I'll say it one more time: we were the 4th seeds in the group and finished in the top 2. A huge achievement.
It’s great. Through to the knock out stages again. Anything else is a bonus for me.

Finland or Russia in Amsterdam wow that would be amazing…..

Sure did, falling to the ground with barely a touch….not seen much footy lately but was shocked at them doing theatricals again, shame because they are a talented bunch.

I said about 2 years or so ago that Ampadu had an important sending off in him..I was nearly right.
Hope he grows up a bit after that.

We definitely learnt from that experience.

It could be Denmark and that would be tough.

Impressed with their performance against Belgium despite the result. Hopefully Russia can shithouse a draw which should be enough for us to face them

Post match interviews....anyone else think Ramsey SO much more articulate than Bale?? Bale starts every answer with ' yeah. no....' reminds me of someone....

I keep seeing people calling for his inclusion, he's not been in either matchday squad at the Euros, didn't come on in the pre-tournament friendlies and has had limited time in competitive games. It would really come out of nowhere if he did start.

We'd lose to Denmark. Fancy our chances against Finland or Russia though, I watched them play each other and they were two poor sides.

Well done Wales! May be the best finishing position in the group too.
Well done Jon. you did well to pull that one out and lay it to rest before someone brought it up to berate you.
    Nice one!!

A defeat against the impressive Italians, but Wales head to Amsterdam and the knock out stages.

Another fine tournament display. The experienced regulars are sailing off into less populated age brackets, but there's a wave of battle hardened youngsters beginning to flood the peak age. "Dan James for the future".

There’s a rebuild project on the way. Will need patience and understanding.

What is exciting, and probably needs some understanding, is how the experienced squad members are now giving back to what is in many ways a really young squad. Lots of twists and turns to come in the future but first Amsterdam to look forward to.

They're a good, solid international side but I would absolutely back us to beat them, especially with no Eriksen and at a neutral venue.

    Good piece as usual Paul.

Just one point - the population of Iceland is around 360,000 not over 600,000 which made their achievement in 2016 even more impressive.
