Thread: roaming charges

    Re: roaming charges

The usual smugs masturbating over roaming charges for some companies, a worldwide shortage of HGV drivers and the shortage of some products during a global pandemic, but it ain't exactly this is it?

Know it all's didn't tell us I wouldn't be able to get taramasalata from waitrose for a few weeks, they told us that house prices would fall 18%, that unemployment would soar, that the stock market would collapse, that a recession was inevitable and that wanting a New Zealand or Canadian style immigration system made everyone racist.

Maybe, just maybe a few exaggerated porkies were sold on the other side?

My favourite is how falling unemployment is now a bad thing.

Great. That justifies it. It used to cost no more, but as long as the yanks are paying $5 a day, it makes it ok.

not sure what the yanks are paying, they might not have to pay a roaming charge if they are in the US

The yanks won't pay $5 a day. UK visitors will pay $5 a day when in America.

I'm in France at the moment and my fully unlimited data contract with Vodafone is subject to a 25GB a month fair usage policy when abroad (so I've blown through most of that catching up with pointless (Wales v Estonia) and the daily quiz shows, like Pointless.

I have enough data left to use social media, email, CCMB for a couple of days but no more streaming unless I pay for extra data (but I don't know how much that costs - Vodafone don't make it easy to find out)

But come next year roaming charges will return as mentioned by BM with tariffs reverting to daily charges.
