Game 1: Smithies, Bakare, Flint, Brown, Bowen, Davies, Pack, Vaulks, Tomlin, Vassell, Harris

Bakare certainly endeared himself to the travelling fans last week, though I'm struggling to see an obvious formation with that lineup

Edit: Its left back Tom Davies, not Isaak Davies now it makes more sense

Game 2: Phillips, Denham, Connolly, McGuinness, Whyte, Bagan, Ralls, Wintle, Zimba, Collins, Giles

Yes thanks for the info Bob
It’s a shame both games are behind closed doors however as Bob says you can watch it on Cardiff city TV
Ibrahim Bakare certainly is a unit - 6 feet two or three and powerfully built with massive shoulders
That defender felt his power in front of the Cardiff fans at Bath last week lol
He’s a centre half but has been playing right back as he loves getting forward, a typical Mick McCarthy type player.
One player I’m interested in seeing today though is Rohan Luthra
He’s recently signed from Crystal Palace - a goalkeeper standing at 6 feet 5 but more interestingly will be the first South Asian (from the Punjab) to play in the Championship 🤔⚽️
    Interesting
    Enjoy your weekend guys 👍

Watched the high lights of the Weston game this morning and Lutheran made some really good saves in the second half, but I think he’d be disappointed to concede the equaliser in added time which looked like it went straight in from a corner.

I don't remember seeing Murphy or Mozzer in the latest club training clip. Nelson was there - but isn't listed in either of the starting 11s.

Moore, Colwill and Bacuna still absent after international duty.

that would seem to suggest that Giles may be used in a more advanced role.
interesting to see if Whyte is playing as a wing back here?

I'd include Bakare in that as well.

Wasn't it Flint who passed it right to them?

I think it was Flint who gave it to Vaulks who gave it away

Oh I thought it was Flint passing to where Vaulks was but Vaulks was already on his way to somewhere else (wasn't expecting it at all) and then the Cambridge player picks it up. Not sure how Bakare gets mentioned.

Whyte, Ralls and Brown named today who were not involved last week. Nelson did play last week.

I saw Morrison getting into his motor the other day. So he's still in South Wales. He ended the season injured so maybe that's still an issue?

Re: CARDIFF CITY v CAMBRIDGE UTD. Match thread 17/7/21.

Commentary seemed to suggest Morrison's simply resting from all the injuries he picked up throughout the season.

Bowen wasted at right wing back.

Yes, you're right looking at it again, I was going by his position more than anything, but Bakare was further forward.

Tom Davies on the left has opened up the Cambridge defence twice and Vassell should have scored from one of them. Tomlin just over with a neat shot, but it's very low key stuff.

    0-1 HT.

Tom Davies the sole bright light for me so far.

It was easier for Vassell to score than it was to miss!

Just over thirty minutes of the game played and I hear my first City are playing too many long balls from a commentator .

I know its only pre season, but the prospect of Pack & Vaulks in midfield doesn't exactly fill me with joy

Looking forward to seeing Ralls and Wintle in the next game.

I know it's a friendly but really surprised by how bad the passing's been today.

Is everyone's video bad, buffering all the time or is it just mine?
