Ive never understood why specialist food trucks ( I dont mean the Burger van or Stavros Kebab ) do not really happen over here, in the US they are massive, all Cuisines from around the world, They have a food truck quarter in Downtown Orlando ( its well away from the tourist area and always busy with Locals, must be 20 parked up at any one time, maybe a 1/3 of them are vegan
We did try Sully Sports for a few weeks . They have a few different types of vans and eating experiences there . We were fairly well supported but in the end it wasn't financially viable.
We are doing the makers markets and street food events . Cardiff Blooms on Friday . I may be going away nest week though ...

Chepstow (great for us) on Sundays .
Cardiff Bay street food coming middle of August on Fridays as well.

Doing Caldicot festival this Friday evening .

We have been doing Cwmbran on a Thursday, which is struggling to be honest .
Places like Thornbury , Coleford and Bel Vue in Newport are great for us.

Its a new business venture for me . Doesn't feel like work. Great chatting with the customers when it isn't too busy.

Interesting , That would certainly explain it

Luckily I'm not a veggie, just trying to cut down on meat. Only way I can eat quorn mince is by adding a couple of beef oxos !!

quorn mince with beef oxo's that made me chuckle

it caused a bit of a uproar in the vegan world when it launched, thats why the Royale is labelled Vegan On the menu next to the plant based whopper it has a * and in very small print its stated its cooked with the meat

Yeah, Quorn mince (as in the actual brand Quorn) is terrible. That's what I mean about them being hit or miss. Some of their stuff is great and the rest isn't.

I've only been a veggie for five years but so much new stuff has come on the market in that time. When I started, it was pretty much Quorn or Linda McCartney only.

Given the chance which would you rather eat? Quorn or Linda?

Linda will probably have gone off by now .

The boxes were more tasty than her sausages back in the day.

Quorn mince is just like Tofu in that it tastes of whatever you cook it in. The Cottage Pie I'll cook today or tomorrow will be made with vegetable stock and plenty of Worcester Sauce and herbs - I daresay the taste would be considered too strong for a Cottage Pie by many.

My wife is a vegetarian and her favorite is Impossible Meat.
I’ve tried it and the texture, particularly for ground/minced beef is impressive.
There is a taste to me though that I don’t enjoy,

Using it in Lasagne or a Pie/Cottage Pie isn’t such an issue as it is just texture absorbing flavor.

There is a Chorizo (Not sure of the brand) as well that is fantastic once crisped.
Great for a Paella/Spanish Rice or potatoes.
I’m sure it’s full of additives but it does a great job.

Chris Evans was on about the impossible brand this morning .
You cant buy it here at the moment.
The beyond meat is ridiculously expensive. But excellent .

Tried these tonight. Very impressive as they are a very good impersonation of Irish sausages. Only issue is I'm not really a fan of Irish sausages, I much prefer a quality Lincolnshire. I also misread the label, thought it said 1.1% carb not 11%! Still- very tasty.

I'd pay a lot of money for a takeaway pizza with a cauliflower base. I make them myself but it's a pain in the arse (this is a keto thing, not a Vegan one). I've made friends with the local Indian takeaway and they've made a keto lamb dish for me which is loaded with lamb and spinach, but I miss my pizza

I go Keto a few time a year.
I know that it’s not a sustainable thing to do unless you adhere to the lifestyle.
It’s ridiculous how much you fancy any legumes!!

Tell myself once I’ve lost a bunch of weight. It’s all good.

Something like Noom might be the answer for me, since I give up once the water weight plus 5 is shifted.

After a 20g carb diet for a few weeks, I genuinely believe that a bean salad will be the greatest thing ever

I had Beyond Meat Plant Based Burgers today: £5 for 2 at sainsburys. They were awesome! To be honest they've got a bit too much filth in them for my liking - a load of crappy rapeseed oil, as well as maltodextrin, so reluctantly I'll not get them again but they really are very very good to eat.

Anyone got any other favourite meat replacements?
    interesting way of coming out

    Thanks - interesting!

Although I find that menu a bit confusing? So it's a vegan restaurant, but there is nothing about the menu that suggests you are getting an alternative to actual chicken. It is described as buttermilk fried chicken, but obviously not chicken. So what is it? I know its a vegan restaurant so you should know it isn'y actually chicken, but it wouldn't hurt for them to tell you what it actually is!

I like the look of that place . I will give it a go and ask the question.

I tried chicken in eewoo in Bristol , it was shockingly bad. They have a great following I found the food very poor.

We did a chilli con carne special today using beyond meat mince , it was disappointing , a bit rubbery . Not like their burgers which are superb.

Try Richmonds sausages , they are quality.

The only veggie mince I like is Tesco's own.
