No I agree entirely. Domestic weed killers are ridiculously over priced and you’re absolutely right to seek alternatives.
If it works for you that’s great, but just chipping in with other suggestions to help.

I hate gardening , growing veg etc but love killing weeds

I think I have found my role in life

4 gallons of white vinegar is 20 quid

I litre of round up is 6 quid

Clearly the glysophate weed killer is more effective but very expensive , I find putting plenty of salt in with the vinegar and the sticking effect of the washing up liquid does the job but it often needs another application to kill everything off

Never understood going to the trouble of going out and buying expensive weed killer or making your own when it's far easier just to dig them out.
A bit of graft to get the root system out but a permanent solution.
