If it’s a yard and you do not want to grow anything there in the future, the most effective thing is diesel although of course I’m not telling you to do that since it’s illegal and it upsets the tree huggers in the unlikely event that anyone finds out.
Ordinary 5 percent white vinegar 1 litre mixed with 3 tablespoons of salt and a squirt of washing up liquid did the business for me last summer
