Thread: Antonio-West Ham

    Antonio-West Ham

Heard on 5live yesterday that he wanted one goal to become West Ham’s leading top division scorer. On the news this morning they’re making a big deal of it........Another 200 and he’ll catch Geoff Hurst up.........when was it when football started?

HE’S WEST HAMS ALL TIME pl TOP SCORER

You could argue Di Canio was their Premiership top scorer and he was their Premier League one already..

I take my hat off to him
    Outstanding display last night
He’s a bull of a bloke - strong- fast and scares defences to death and a fan’s favourite 🤩
We’d all love a player like that in our team!! ⚽️⚽️

The Premier league is a brand which they and Sky have always touting.

I understand it all from a business perspective but it does mock the legends from the past.

I doubt Geoff himself is best pleased with it all.

I doubt Vic Watson with 326 goals is pleased Geoff Hurst gets all the praise either

Did they actually say the top division or did they say the Premier League?

    I'm betting the latter.

A whole load of fuss over nothing really.

I thought the same thing when I was watching the post-game yesterday. NBC switched to Sky coverage for a bit. I mean good on him, but it's like Sky is trying to "cancel" football before 1992. He seems like a good bloke but all that fuss about 49 goals in 6 seasons is ridiculous.

Didn’t watch BBC breakfast news this morning then, they said ‘top division’ as well as 5Live yesterday teatime. But you’ll argue different of course.

Would be stupid to argue back on a programme I didn't watch or listen to.

    Re: Antonio-West Ham

That means that Jordon Mutch is our all time leading PL scorer.

It may be of interest to note that we've had 5 players who have scored 5 or more goals in the PL for us. Frazier Campbell netted 6. The other 5 were midfielders or defenders (Mutch, Camarasa, Reid (rarely used as a striker) and Caulker).

Because they are talking about the PL era, not all time.

    And I wanted to.

Who are? The people on the tv and radio that you already admitted you didn't watch and wouldn't argue against but are now arguing against?
