Thread: FT: CARDIFF CITY 1 - 2 BRISTOL CITY

  1. #51

Re: CARDIFF CITY v BRISTOL CITY. Match thread

That's a poor goal to concede.

Re: CARDIFF CITY v BRISTOL CITY. Match thread

The ball was virtually at the feet of Phillips but instead of attacking the ball moved backwards. Poor goalkeeping.

Thank god we have fans in the stadium to make some noise...

No replay on the red button unfortunately, but it did look as though Phillips hesitated

Opposite of what their keeper did just before..

I'm not fussed on Giles crossing from the right on his left..

That ball went out then as well.. Blind linesman.

Why pass the ball up into their half just to pass it back and see Morrison lump a long ball up to the huge Bacuna? I'll never ever get it. Defenders can't pass it so don't!!!!

He did, it probably cost us that, he needs to be sharper.

Re: CARDIFF CITY v BRISTOL CITY. Match thread

    Very disappointing again.

Re: CARDIFF CITY v BRISTOL CITY. Match thread

Take the goal out of it and not much between the sides.

It isn't much of a spectacle. Many Championship games have large scrappy spells where there is very little of note at either end.

Re: CARDIFF CITY v BRISTOL CITY. Match thread

Too much inexperience and lack of commitment

  12. #62

Re: CARDIFF CITY v BRISTOL CITY. Match thread

    Moore is far to isolated.

Re: CARDIFF CITY v BRISTOL CITY. Match thread

Good cross by bacuna.. Right footed on the right.. Unlucky by young Bagan

Re: CARDIFF CITY v BRISTOL CITY. Match thread

    Goal has totally flattened us

Re: CARDIFF CITY v BRISTOL CITY. Match thread

Dreadful first half. No desire and no ideas

    Everywhere they gooooooo
    Everywhere they go 🎵
    😂😂😂

That was a fun half eh?
Not exactly Barca v Real but I’ll take it.

Still think Cardiff will probably score mind.
Only so many Dan B can stop before something goes in.

Let’s see what the 2nd half brings!

One look at the bench and genuinely don’t know who to turn to

Sang is very impressive so far.
He's clever, good technique and a good footballer but man he's slow. I've seen it in this game and others. Players literally run around him.

Watching the goal back, I know Phillips should come out but Flint massively hesitated as well before that even happened which put Phillips in the position.. I know.. I'm sorry he's scored 4 goals we can't have a pop at him.

Re: CARDIFF CITY v BRISTOL CITY. Match thread

Giles should be doing better with his chance.

As has been pointed out Phillips' hesitation makes the chance a much better one than if he closes down the time and space rather than stopping. Flint running in treacle can't be ignored as a factor if we're being honest either.

City seeing more of the ball but it's all a bit ponderous. Nobody in the middle who really beats a man and it hurts us. Takes two touches or more before the ball is moved on or pumped forward which isn't enough really.

We need somebody to inject a bit of tempo into the game. It was a tough watch first half due to both teams doing very little really but Bristol City will be over the moon with that.

Re: CARDIFF CITY v BRISTOL CITY. Match thread

I've heard a lot of rave reviews of Giles but on this showing he is not very good; very one footed and not a very good crosser of the ball in this game at least. Their goal was down to a goalkeeping error but their keeper has made a couple of decent stops. Very disappointing so far and a dreadful game to watch.

Weve been comfortably the better side. Should be ahead.

Poor defending by Flint and poor keeping by Phillips.

Agree with this. One moment of bad communication and we're losing a game we should be winning.

The lack of pace all over the park in blue is notable.

It is so one paced and that pace is very pedestrian. If we can't bully teams with a our set piece and long throw game then we seem devoid of ideas or any energy.

It is all the more notable when it gets to half time on City TV and they show the Dave Jones team in it's pomp. It was a world away from where we are at currently, both entertainment and footballing wise.

Dont think anyone would argue he wasn't caught out.

Keeper though, Weimann even miscontrolls it and still gets to it.
