Here's another one. Some, not all, in fact, a small portion, want to come to the UK because that's their ****ing preference. They may have family, friends etc already in the UK. As much as it seems to pain some people, being part of the lowest economical social class doesn't mean that you give up on aspiration and ambition. Surely that's the Tory mantra, like Tebbitt said, ' Get on yer bike' I would've thought that anyone who travels through 8 countries and sleeps under a piece of plastic for two years, leaving their families and friends behind, should have the red carpet rolled out for them. That's commitment in my eyes, just what we want!
He's not right. He never is. Thats a hypothetical scenario designed to enrage the knee-jerkers on twitter.
He only ever looks at things from a far-left angle too. So he ignores counter arguments and provides no context.
If you only give one side of a story, it's not accurate.
Bloke is worth ignoring.
What he means is David Schneider posts things that make him feel uncomfortable because it holds a mirror up to how much of a selfish **** James is.
If you believe the likes of the Mail, Express and Nobhead Farage the UK is the only country that asylum seekers are interested in, but if you take a look at the actual figures loads go to other European countries. These UN figures are from 2019 but I'm sure haven't changed greatly:
UK - 133,094
Germany - 1,146,685
France - 407,923
Italy - 207,619
Sweden - 253,794
Switzerland - 110,168
Austria - 135,955

This isn't about asylum seekers per se, it is about boats crossing the channel via criminal gangs.
The two should not be conflated.
I wholly support the UK airlifts from Afghanistan last week. But I generally don't think facilitating human trafficking from Calais is good.
The Brexiteers are reaping what they sowed, they were fed the ‘we’ll stop the illegal immigrants’ line and fell for it hook, line & sinker. The French may have the attitude now of ‘shoo, get over there to the nearest non EU country, it’s just over that stretch of water, we’ve no alliance or allegiance to the rosbifs now’. Hypothetical and fanciful, I know, but is it? The largely right wing influenced ‘leavers’ have created the very scenario that was their worst nightmare.
Does anyone have a David Schneider face t-shirt in the style of Che Guevara ?
