Maybe teams have worked us out' Mick McCarthy's blunt Cardiff City verdict as he admits major concern over woeful form

Isn’t that what every team tries to do every game they play?
Not that it takes much working out to beat us.
Use pace and keep the ball on the floor to beat the defenders.
Outrun and outpass the midfield, be first to the ball in defence. Head clear anywhere as there won’t be anybody picking it up.

We complain there is no pace in the team going forward, which is so true, but the lack of pace, urgency and sharpness in midfield and at the back is also startling.

We are slow, ponderous, fragile and blunt.

You're right, teams have worked us out... Any pace, running at us or smart balls behind us and we crumble. Teams have also worked out how to deal with our set pieces... Stop them, frustrate them and stop Morrison, flint and Moore any movement.

Some of us have been saying for some time that be cant base our whole approach on long balls and set pieces .. some on here even shot us down claiming it's effective... It's not.

When we got promoted under NW at least he knew we needed some pace and guile in the team to hit teams on the break... Also home many games did we play poorly, have limited possession only for Junior to come up with a wonderful strike...plenty.

Sadly MM and the transfer committee have stripped all pace and flair out of the team which of course puts more pressure and exposes the defence.... There is no one to run onto hopeful balls and we just give possession away.

Given the context of the division we are in, I would say this is the most disappointing squad we have had for many many years.

Playing 3 CBs with very little pace is just not working. The amount of easy goals we are conceding is growing game by game. The first yesterday was a simple ball over the top again, absurd at this level. Need to change system to protect ourselves or give someone else a chance, otherwise we are going to keep conceding avoidable goals. Think time to give Phillips between the sticks a little rest too….

Pack Bacuna Vaulks Ralls (bar Giles and kids) are our stable of midfielders

And some wonder why CCFC can hardly string a few bits of play together.

Highly skilled ball players there, what's your point? 🤣

Other teams have worked out that MM wont change his tactics during a game until it's too late.
We should bring in that musician Plan B cos at least then we'll have one.

Yes,we have definitely been found out. It remains to be seen whether Mick can turn this around (at the moment I'm willing to guess that 99% of people on this message board do not think he can), but he was definitely out thought by Tony Mowbray yesterday, and has been out thought by virtually every manager so far this season. it's going to be a long one I'm afraid

It's not difficult to figure out really, he doesn't change anything and he has got rid of any players that he could use if he did want to change it. What a difference having Whyte and Muphy on the bench would be to change things up.
