    Casual Empiricism - "Man Bags"

I've been staying in and around Roath/Penylan for the last couple of weeks and there seem to be a lot of males sporting shoulder bags. Is this a thing? Never noticed it very much on the British Isles before.

Each to their own, when it comes to fashion statements I guess , like any item of fashion wear.

I’ve had numerous compliments from males and females and I would recommend one.

I'm not against them, don't justify it to me. Each to their own.

I wouldn't buy drugs off anyone wearing a man bag.

People wearing one of those normally end up getting leathered

Same as most people. Age dependent.

Nice leather over the shoulder man bag , can turn the ladies on.

Also nice are sling bags or large mens over shoulder purse

Do you mean a satchel? Bullied at school for having a satchel, compulsory requirement but singled you out as a Grammar kid

Me too. I used to end up wearing a jacket (for the pockets) when I didn't need one and/or a small backpack. Now wallet, phone, keys, sun glasses, reading glasses, face mask, kindle/book and any other essential (!) stuff goes into a small zipped shoulder bag. Practical and even better I now know it is hip too!

One day even Sludge will see the light - you can get them with ear-bleed band logos!

Talking of fashion, or lifestyle if you want to call it that, What's with these Tattoo's that are designed to look like the type that ex cons and seaman used to get? They're more polished (obviously) but usually sported by those who have never been to prison or on a ship. When i started out on site, all of the old blokes had these home made tats, usually a dagger or a mam and dad effort. It does look a bit shit if i'm being honest, yet authentic on a person who has done 18 months for gbh.

One of the lads by me started carrying one of these round with him when they first came in

Everyone gave him a wide berth

    Not for any homophobic reason

But because he looked like a complete cock

My thought's on these are "What on earth have they got in there?". I carry a phone, wallet, sometimes glasses, change, handkerchief, and keys - but I don't need a bag. It all goes in my pockets. So what have they got in the bag? Laptop? Secret papers?

Probably a laptop I would have thought. I hate having shit in my pockets, don't have a wallet, too bulky. If I go out I just take my card with me, same with holiday, as little as possible, too the point where I'll buy stuff at the place where I'm going. Missus packs Like she's going to the ****ing Antarctica for a month. Too much shit causes complications in my opinion.

Sam here. Diver's Licence. Debit card. Phone. Maybe some cash. If I'm with the Mrs, I don't even bother with the phone.

However, I do take a bag to work. I wouldn't call it a "man-bag" though. I just looked it up. It's called a "messenger bag". Black. Patagonia. If it is a "man bag", so be it. I'm fine with it.

Recently bought a man bag . Phone is chocka with cards for all sorts of reasons . Need glasses for reading , face mask etc .
Cant stand things in my pockets , ruins the cut of the cloth ...
    Love it .
Why would anyone be concerned about the apparel of a fellow person?
