    Am a lifelong conservative (though disillusioned...) Frank Field is someone who I respected a great deal - a genuine person who did not play politics.

    Very sad indeed. A really decent person of integrity and courage unlike our poster friend Henry Hill. I see he was an advocate of assisted suicide for the terminally ill having seen a friend die slowly with cancer, an option not open to his friend or indeed to himself now. Quite an emotive topic at the moment - a suitable topic for a thread of its own on the CCMB? A black or white issue for most people I think.

    Absolutely true, so sad; why anyone would try to mock it I'll never know. The ignorant and cerebrally challenged should read John Donne!
