Could make a case for Harris but when I see him he seems to do best off the bench.

I hope the back 5 can do well , I think on form they are the best options
Flint is the best defender we have probably

Nelson is a liability. If it wasn't for the fact we had Morrison and Flint also, we would be looking for a replacement

I still think five at the back at home is too cautious.

I think its 3 at the back, same as Saturday

    It's a back 3

Three centre backs then, still too cautious.

Doesn't that depend on whether the wing backs attack and provide the width and crosses.

If they sit back like a pair of centre backs playing out of position it is definitely too cautious. Ng and Giles should do OK.

I'm less confident about central defence and central midfield. Mozzer, Nelson and Vaulks need big games.

Great to see Zimba on the bench, and Ralls back.

Would have started Flint and Harris, but that's ok.

Not really. It allows Giles and NG to get high and wide whilst having Colwil and Evans provide support to Moore.

The way Mick set us up in this formation was criminal, but there's a reason back 3s are becoming more and more common in modern football.

We always concede a few so I’m going 4-3 city

Yeah I think you can make a case for Flint but personally think Morrison is a better defender and I wouldn’t play the together especially with Giles bombing forward at fullback.

If that defence can get some form I think they are the better 3 personally. Getting form is the issue but then Flint hasn’t been great either minus the goals

Agree this team couldn’t be further from a MM team

it doesn't have to be, if you get the wing backs pushed on it can be a really aggressive tactic. think Holland at the euros

I only ever miss home games if I’m away on holiday but, unfortunately, I’m missing tonight because I’m going on holiday on Friday. Had a ‘fit to fly’ test this morning, results tomorrow and another test at Cardiff Airport on Friday morning, two negatives allow you to check in, a positive means no holiday. Just didn’t want to chance it, not happy about the situation....C’mon The City!!!

Been a minute gone and already a noticeable difference in tempo to Mickball

Re: CARDIFF CITY v Q.P.R. Match thread

    should be 1-0 up

Re: CARDIFF CITY v Q.P.R. Match thread

Irrespective of score, isn’t it nice just seeing us try and pass it a little.

So much better to watch, having to watch on tv as I’m away unfortunately. Vaulks wasn’t wrong about the change in midfield play, he along with Pack look so much better.

    well impressed so far.

When someone is in possession someone dropping into space just incase.

Always trying to get that second ball

    Quicker

    Positive forward balls into space

Just looks like we have a plan rather than waiting for the oppo to open up

EDIT not sure about the huge gaps in the defence mind

Did I just hear the commentator suggest that MM was trying to change our style to a more possession based game lol

Re: CARDIFF CITY v Q.P.R. Match thread

Collwill and Evans are a joy to watch.
    They are playing with confidence!

No BBC reporters down the CCS tonight? Our game hasn’t been mentioned at all in the live updates so far. Have they not been made aware of Mick’s departure?

Refreshing to see the players passing the ball to each other. Much better to watch.

(Smithies looks to have missed that particular team meeting though.)
