Reading given a six point deduction

    With immediate effect.

And a further 6 points suspended until end of next season.

    Not enough of a punishment

Re: Reading given a six point deduction

It should be £1m for each point overspend and the penalty should not be negotiable, it should be applied consistently

I'm surprised more clubs don't get caught. We must be pretty borderline.

I don’t agree we have got away with a light penalty. It’s the same as Sheff Wed last season. Teams like Leicester got away with murder a few years ago reneging on paying builders etc. We have paid our bills.
In addition we slashed our wage bill this season and have to slash it again by another £5 million next season or face another six point deduction. That makes it impossible to retain our best players.

The six point loss could matter a big deal at the end of the season.

I don't disagree that Leicester and QPR to name just two got away lightly but the penalty structure should be set and non-negotiable based on the size of the financial breach. It should not be possible to negotiate a lower points penalty.

Isn’t it better for the EFL to work with clubs to get them back in the right direction? That’s what is happening here. We have to work with a severely restricted budget this season and next but that will get our accounts to a better place.
If we fail to do that we will be punished again.

Would you like to see Reading go into administration or maybe go bust?

    No.

This could happen to us any day now, so don't celebrate other teams misery
