How the hell were they able to run up nearby £30m debt to HMRC? Surely once it reached a million alarm bells should have been ringing?

And they’ve just gone 3-2 up on Bournemouth.

Rooney seems to be doing a reasonable job there given everything.

Bit of a no lose situation I s’pose. Type of situation where he’ll most probably get a lot more sympathy than brickbats. Must be on a decent wage, a wage he’ll not walk away from. Great result for them today and I’d imagine the ‘siege, everybody hates us, mentality’ has kicked in.

He's built up some good rapport with the players, as the recent "shag a gran" day he hosted demonstrates.

Derby face LIQUIDATION unless HMRC agree to write off more than £20MILLION of debt, prospective buyers fear... leaving club 'sleepwalking' towards oblivion

Looking ever more grim for the snow dodgers! Surely HMRC will not write off any of their debt from Derby - that would be madness.

But at least there's a party atmosphere in Nottingham - so some good out of it, eh?

if they were liquidated, then presumably all of their players suddenly become free agents?
