I remember Hull in the old Boothferry Park days- Ken Wagstaff, Chris Chilton both prolific goalscorers, and Ian Mckechnie in goal. Pretty good team.

I remember seeing Wagstaff score four against us at Ninian Park and I’m pretty sure he scored a hat trick in a game up there as well.

I was at that game too. For Hull, Ken Wagstaff, a very prolific goalscorer, was shaded by Chris Chilton when it came to scoring for Hull in total. Ken Houghton used to bang them in as well at that time. . If I remember correctly, Ken Wagstaff's portliness did not seem to impede his goalscoring ability.

Paddy Greenwood was one of my thoughts but I dismissed him as I didn’t think his name was an oxymoron

They're opposites so I'm sure it's the answer he's looking for. You're probably right in that it's not an oxymoron but I won't report him to Mike for it. I wonder if there is a footballer whose name is an oxymoron? I'll leave that with you I think.

King is right, but it’s not Greenwood. I’ve read a few times lately that, in these mad times, satire is dead, but I’d say the answer is somewhat satirical in that it wouldn’t always qualify as an oxymoron, but would in some cases. The first word you’re looking for has two other meanings I can think of besides a name and the oxymoron part relates to the word most often used to define one of those two meanings.
