"Our interest is to be part of the biggest possible market with the fewest possible barriers"
"The European Market gives us that. The European free trade agreements give us that"
"Why would we want to depart from that?"
David Frost, Chief Executive of the Scottish Whisky Association, June 2016
As you say Delbert - just another Brexit shyster.
The Tories have been in power for nearly 12 years, it's not just PIP
You have clearly been lucky with PIP
It may not always be like that
But you have continued to vote for a government that may one day leave you high and dry
I find that unbelievable
Best of luck if it all goes tits up
Shouldn’t that make you think then? If”right wing rags” like the Mail are turning on Johnson’s Government, things have reached a bit of a state haven’t they. That said, the Mail has been pretty stroppy lately under their new, “socialist” editor, but the ultra loyal Telegraph and Express have also been bearing their teeth lately.
dont read any of them to be honest ( pretty sure I have made that point in posts in this thread ), but I do find it rather funny when in one discussion they are right wing and untrustworthy liars, yet if they have a go at Boris ( or anything to suit certain posters agenda's ) they are the bastions of truth
YWouldn’t it be feasible that a right wing publication would be firing bullets at the buffoon who is ruining the credibility of the party that they back? Similar to recent events down the City, the vast majority of fans wanted the bloke in charge of the team fired because of his inept tactics, yet we still backed the team.
No, it is not just PIP.
And there are many elements of Tory policy I disagree with.
But Aistair Darling was also planning austerity cuts "deeper and tougher than Margaret Thatchers" if they had won the 2010 election and that respected body the Institute for Fiscal Studies was also talking about two parliaments of pain.
Don't take my word for it by the way

Now you may well say that Brown and Darling would have been more sympathetic than the Tories to the less well off, but I very much doubt this given what I have already said about Blair (with Brown as his right hand man) setting up the draconian Interview regime under DLA which was admittedly broadened by the Tories under PIP. And Brown, of course used the same sort of interview regime for almost anyone who applied for ESA.
Not to mention tuition fees which Labour brought in in the teeth of opposition from the Tories and Lib Dems. who then of course change their minds after the results of the review instigated by Peter Mandelson in 2009 (and look at the problems this caused the Lib Dems).
Labour ,of course, opposed the increase the tories brought in but that was under a new leadership and there is no doubt that if Brown had been leader they would also have brought in the increases.
Had Labour got in in 2010 I would have had no confidence in them not leaving me high and dry either
I wasn't lucky with PIP and I acknowledge that you kindly offered to help if we did have problems. But it took me hours of hard work to fill in the forms in 2007 for my wife's reapplication for DLA ( we weer on a three year review until then but it was changed to indefinite at that review and I used this experience to answer the similar forms for PIP in 2020 and then to review the interview and successfully get standard care upgraded to enhanced care.
And whether you believe me or not I may well have abstained in 2017 and 2019 if Corbyn hadn't been leader (Almost certainly in 2019)
Ha ha, you've hit the Mail on the head there Elwood 😀
The guardian has obtained a picture of Boris Johnson, his wife Carrie Johnson and up to 17 staff in the Downing Street garden with ‘wine and cheese’ during lockdown.
Downing Street insist everyone was “working” in the garden.
Pull the bloody other one. This party gate investigation will become a full time job.

looks like its a personal thing, wait till the last one dies down, then go again
Not sure on the reason for people to be so smug about it though, as he will only be replaced by someone similar ( in fact might even look more professional , less Buffon like and push the party on ) Priti Patel anyone ? ? ??
