I remember watching his penultimate fight against Larry Holmes. I was only about 11 at the time and I remember thinking even at that age, that Ali was a mere shadow of his former self.
Think that fight did a lot of damage to Ali’s health. Should have retired after regaining the title off Leon Spinks for his third time as World Heavyweight Champion.
He was no doubt the greatest sporting icon of all time.
Should have retired after beating George Foreman.
That was a great victory and he wasnt close to what he was in the 60s when he was robbed of his best years.
