Indeed. Raducanu seems to have plenty of personality, and showed some incredible mental fortitude. I don't care who wins, but on the basis that the winner has to have achieved something objectively remarkable (i.e. you can't just pick someone who is a great person that happens to play sport at any level), Raducanu is surely the sort of person they are looking for.

Ignoring who they've given this award to, why do the BBC let us know who's won before the TV programme?
The new definition of woke seems to be a negative one by right-leaning individuals. Eg. Marcus Rashford helping hungry kids = woke, supporting a superb black gymnast with mental health issues = woke. I would be pleased to be called woke from that shower.
