Thread: WBA confirm Johnstone sent off for violent conduct and banned for 3 games

WBA confirm Johnstone sent off for violent conduct and banned for 3 games

It was reported that Johnstone and Aden Flint were sent off for foul and abusive language which would have carried a one match ban. But Albion have decided not to appeal the violent conduct charge and the keeper misses three games.

Alex Mowatt also banned for three games for his red card for the foul on Vaulks.

So I guess Flint is going to be three games as well?

Quite ridiculous that someone can be sent off for bad language. In fact it's ****ing ridiculous

Looking on a Baggies forum it seems as though they’ve got Bacunaitis regarding Johnstone in that a four game ban would have been very acceptable to them.

Morison said we would be appealing the Flint red card.

West Brom have decided not to appeal either of theirs.

Why do you need to use abusive language on a football pitch ?

Is it still a thing that if you appeal and it's rejected you get another game added to the ban?

Competitive sporting environment, passion running high, players are humans. 🤷

No, it isn’t automatic that a failed appeal leads to a further ban, it happens when they’re considered to be “frivolous” - I’d guess Jason Perry would have been proved right if we’d appealed the Bacuna red card.
