reports coming out of westminster this morning COVID passes will be scrapped along with Work From Home to be stopped at the end of the month too but will still require to wear a face mask on trains and in shops whilst Mr Drakeford is now adding a booster to get a COVID pass here in Wales

Only 19,718,497 (31%) have had the booster in England, perhaps that’s why they are scrapping it.

the booster hasn't yet been offered to the whole population. plus your figures are wrong - over 30m booster doses have been given in England which is over 60% of the eligable population.

And by the way, if it wasn't for the ‘couldn't give a shit’ attitude of many people under 40, we wouldn't still be sitting in the middle of a pandemic and many thousand less deaths would have occurred, mainly in the older population, who you obviously despise so much.
Where have I said they don't have a right to an opinion? I'm criticising their/your opinion that you've constantly voted to make lives worse for the generations that come after you.

And those under 40 who broke lockdown rules are pricks of the highest order, but let's not forget that anti vaxxers skew heavily with age mind.

Notice that none of you are answering any of my questions.

Probably because it is all utter bollocks. I haven't voted for anything that I think makes things worse for future generations by the way. That's just your warped opinion. You really should consider going to live in Russia you know, it would suit you down to the ground but something tells me that you wouldn't stick it for long.

Just watched Drakefords news conference. The man just can not bring himself to be optimistic in any way. He is still preaching the ‘we are probably still all going to die but in the meantime we will let you go out a bit more’ mantra that has dominated his thinking since the start.

The government always release the correct figures and tell the truth don’t they …..just remember a G.P gets £12.50 a shot even if the person doesn’t present themselves

What a load of rubbish. You have no idea what you are talking about. where did you get the 19m figure from - thin air ? plus they havent cancelled the booster programme, so you made the whole thing up.

It’s up to week 49 , so assume is increasing but again is disappointing

Week 49 of what - 2021 ? That would mean early December and it is now January 14th. How is 30m booster jabs disappointing. The vaccination figures are provided by the NHS. Just checked online and the figure you gave is for December 12th, so you are using figures that are 5 weeks out of date. You are also using the same data that I was !!
I would suggest that you read the figures for January 13th to give you a more accurate idea of what is happening. FFS.

In England the boosters have been open to everyone since the middle of December at least.

There’s a lack of appetite but also everyone having covid means a lot of people have had to delay

They’re going to become mandatory for travel at some point in certain countries so I expect take up will increase.

30,217,780 Boosters as of yesterday in England alone.

Clearly I’m not making it up then…. It’s a lower than anticipated take up which is why I suggested that’s the reason they are scrapping Vaccine Passports in England

There’s never been vaccine passports used in England outside of scanning the track and trace app. I’d actually say with the amount of people who’ve had to delay because they’ve had covid the booster take up is about where you’d expect it.

Be fair. You have had a nightmare on this issue. How can anyone think that giving over 36m booster jabs in the UK, in around 3 months is ‘disappointing’ is beyond me.

You are going to get an initial surge , but I thought based on the fact that 483,361 were given in one day in week 49 (2021) then I my opinion it’s disappointing, at the end of the day it was just in reply to why perhaps they have lifted restrictions in England I didn’t realise I had to sense check.

How can you use 5 week old data to back up your point and accuse other people of using fabricated data provided by the Government when it is the same data but up to date. Since ‘week 49’’ , 11m boosters have been given in England alone or 2.2m a week. Definitely not ‘disappointing’ and one of the major success stories of the pandemic. England have also not cancelled the booster programme, as you claimed. It is still in full swing. The only thing they have done is decide to not introduce Covid passports. Why deliberately post inaccurate information on this ? You also accused doctors of fraudulently claiming money for fictitious jabs !!

My point was simple , that in all generations there are people who do give a toss, and those who don't.
The plastic waste and “disposable culture” is because it’s ingrained in our manufacturing etc.

I’m not saying there aren’t young people who care more than old people but it’s a bad analogy imo.

To be fair Croesy this is a subject dear to my heart and I have to say I think you're both correct. It's unhelpful to pit one against the other because the two problems have enormous environmental consequences. I think everyone needs to take personal responsibility as well as accept that for the majority of our lives we're lied to (advertising, party politics, corruption, greed etc.).

    Re: IF Drakeford says...

If Nicola Sturgeon wouldn’t have lifted restrictions north of the border, Drakeford wouldn’t have either. Everyone knew that the lifting of the 6Nations restrictions was the worlds worst kept secret. He had to bow to the pressure from all directions for obvious reasons. Just like the AllBlacks game in October last year, he’ll be sitting in the hospitality section ,with all the other hangers on.

I think most people do take personal responsibility I don’t think you can use pissed up teenagers as a festival as a point against that. Especially when everyone knows massive clean ups happen post festival.

My main problem with taking personal responsibility is it basically achieves **** all without structural change. I’m washing out my tomato tins after cooking while certain airlines are flying empty planes to keep routes open and oil companies are making more money than ever.
