    British passports

Just returned from Poland for a couple of days … walk up to the E Gate armed with my brand new shiny blue British passport.

Gets rejected.. go to desk. WTF. Man on desk tells men the E Gates are not set up for the new British passport. FFS. Yet another incompetent Brexit linked failing.

When were passports ever blue anyway? My old passport was black.

"Craig Burston, senior lecturer in graphic design at the London College of Communication, which incorporates what was the London College of Printing, says there is nothing to suggest the "dominant colour" of the new passport is blue.
But if it is blue, "it must be the most apologetic shade of blue they could find" because "it's as black as blue gets".

"The Home Office would not specify the shade of this blue, although a spokesman said it was close to, if not exactly, a blue numbered as 5395C in the Pantone classification."

As you enter the border control hall where the guards of said border check your passport it’s first on the left before you get to the queues

There’s usually a nice lady pointing you in the right direction so that you can move away from the common herd.

On a regular basis they don’t function as expected so you soon get redirected to the queuing hoi poloi

The other thing I’ve occasionally noticed when the queues are huge and families with children are escorted to the front area is that the ‘family’ often has an increase in numbers as loiterers tag in behind and get a ride to the front.

In every major airport in the world.

    https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/EPassport_gates

I always use them as there are normally zero queues. Seems the, ones at Heathrow have not been set up for new British passports, despite having up to 6 years to do so!

There we go, gunman. Mystery solved

So why are you mentioning Brexit when it was the airports fault?
