This was 25 minutes ago so not confirmed as far as I can see.

    Would make sense.
Good player, has managerial experience in the Champ and Prem and has many contacts in the game.
I don't mind Everton, probably only because of my dislike of Liverpool mind you, but it would be nice to see them in the Championship.

Without looking it up, I think I'm right in saying that they've never been relegated.

Arsenal I believe are the only side never to be relegated though Woolwich Arsenal were.

I think they are also the only team never to be promoted via league position.

Indeed. Woolwich Arsenal were relegated in 1913. After the war, 3 sides were promoted from that division - Derby as champions, Preston as runners-up and Arsenal, who finished in 5th, yet Barnsley and Wolves finished above them in 1915. That must have been a bitter pill for Spurs, who were relegated in 1915 to the second division.

the north upington strollers were never relegated from the top flight, but they did resign when the ban on the wearing of top hats was introduced.

Tottenham were fuming over that and the fact that the Arsenal were a South London outfit that relocated to their territory.
