Thread: Kevin McNaughton - Updated. Found 'safe and well'

  1. #26

    Re: Kevin McNaughton

Great news this (that he's safe).

Kev if you read this, be strong and take comfort in the fact that you are loved by tens of thousands of people.

How many human beings can say that?

    Re: Kevin McNaughton

    Fantastic news

Hope he gets the help he needs

Well done for the outpouring of love and concern for Kev by the city fans which I'm sure, in part, played a role in raising the awareness of his situation.

As mentioned above.... Hope we never know the details, he just needs some help.

I really hope he is OK.

Just shows again that footballers are humans with problems, just like everyone else.

Worth thinking about as you shout from the stands.

I've seen many posts on here saying the old tropes along the lines of "if I was earning X thousand a week, I wouldn't be depressed" etc

But that's not how humans work. We're all vulnerable and no one knows what's happening underneath.

Imagine your career and earning potential being done by your mid 30s too after all those highs and being involved in a team with a load of mates for years.

That must be properly depressing no matter how much money you have in the bank.

That wouldn't have bothered him at all. It's all part of the favourite time of his life. It's the loneliness no one shouting anymore no one interested that's the problem.

    Relieved to hear he’s okay.
I see that Lee Tomlin has been having problems again.
It makes you realise that mental health issues among footballers (as in society in general) are more common than we may think.

I feel some responsibility for this, the many times I threatened him with intercourse with my wife..

but seriously, who doesn't love Kev Mac, one of a handful of players who I felt really loved the club and its fans, and showed and proved it in his weekly performances
