Seems like Islwyn’s MP numbers among the army of South Wales Leeds United fans - apparently Don Readies was a wronged man.

Dear God, that’s tragic, must have been 100,000 watching that Clarke header.
Manager of the most disliked team this country has ever seen.
"Cancel culture"...just bandy a few right wing buzzwords and you're bound to pick up a following
Leeds, of that time, had some wonderful footballers, footballers that should have been encouraged to fully use their talents on the ball for their fans, and others, to enjoy. Revie encouraged them to hone spiteful off the ball talents, which their fans and only their fans enjoyed and still revel in to this day. He was a devotee of the dark arts both on the pitch and off, Leeds United were decidedly dodgy during his tenure, shenagins that did eventually catch up with them down the line. He was the instigator of the dislike felt throughout football for Leeds United, that’s his legacy.
You’ve got to credit Revie as a talent spotter because I’d say Leeds were probably the best team in England for a decade from the mid sixties, but it’s probably true that didn’t win the trophies that accolade demands and I’ve often thought that other teams with nothing to play for in end of season games would bust a gut to try and deny Leeds a trophy.
There was one season though (think it may have been 73/74) when Leeds largely cut out all of cynicism and concentrated on playing football when they won the old First Division convincingly- I’d say that season proves that Revie held Leeds back with his negativity and pressuring of officials, they should have won more than they did.
