All for free speech, particularly in comedy, but that joke is over the mark in my opinion.

Just steer clear of jokes about actual genocide that’s all I’m suggesting.

Didn't think it was that bad.

    Heard worse over the years.

    I agree

Sometimes it feels like some comedians are just being offensive for the sake of it rather than constructing actual jokes

Horrible, and just for a cheap joke. Totally unfunny fella too.

He should know better. The poor man’s Bob Minkhouse.

    Re: Jimmy Carr.

This shouldn't come as a surprise to anyone familiar with Carr's live shows. He jokes about a whole range of topics that some might find offensive and the show comes with warnings as to the material covered.

I don't agree with the topics he chooses to joke about and vote with my feet, or remote in this instance. If enough people took this stance he'd have to change his routine or retire.

    Re: Jimmy Carr.

He’s always been massively offensive especially in his live shows. He usually tones it down for TV.

Bob was class. Didn’t need to joke about such offensive topics, or swear his head off, just to get laughs. One of a kind. Impeccable timing.

To quote the punchline of one of Bob's jokes- 'Well they're not laughing now'.

For goodness sake, it's like no-one had ever heard Jimmy Carr before. This is what he does, and has been doing for years.
Who's surprised? Nobody. Get over it.

You make it sound like everyone missed the deadline to complain. You're right that no-one's surprised; perhaps people are just tired of the middle class Bernard Manning punching down.

didn't make me laugh but plenty in the audience were.i wonder if he had gone back to the roman era would it have had the same impact.

    Re: Jimmy Carr.

I don't think it's a funny joke, and a bit over the line for me personally but it's quite funny to see that Nadine "left wing snowflakes are killing comedy" Dorries is upset by this joke and looking to bring Netflix to account in future

People like different comedians for different reasons. There are plenty that I don’t like so don’t watch them.

I’m not surprised that people on this message board find this offensive considering how little attention they pay to context.

    Re: Jimmy Carr.

If nothing else, this episode reveals something about the mind/thoughts of a person who could compose such a “joke”.

Do you think the Carr is actually shining a light on centuries of persecution and Racism towards Gypsy Communities across Europe? I find that difficult to believe, but i'd be interested to hear your take on it
