Despite the fact similar days in Scotland and Ireland are big to the economy, England has refused claiming too many people commute over the border to make it work.
Surely it should be up to Wales to make that decision?

Gwynedd County Council have given their employees the day off next year I think? All the other 21 authorities should do the same and hopefully public opinion, pressure will create a bank holiday by circumventing the UK government?
I fail to see on what grounds that decision can be reasonably defended - pure discrimination which should be challenged in the courts.
Make St George’s Day a holiday in Wales but rename it St Fred’s or St Hughie’s Day
Why not have one I suppose but for most people I know it may as well be for pancake day or pretty much anything.
An extra day given over here this year as a thank you after Covid, looking forward to a nice long weekend, although it will be slightly tarnished if City don't win tonight
I'd take an extra day, but not bothered about it being st David's day, its a bit of a non event.
A lot of the traditions are just completely made up

Teachers get enough holidays as it is so can't be giving them any more.
Wales has one of the lowest amount of bank holidays in the whole world, another great perk of the union.
What will need to happen to realise that more powers will mean better quality of life?
