A lot of it stems from the "Dark Side" board where certain individuals like to still think they're in the know. One of the players they got info from has left along with a member of staff who used to sing like a canary. Smithies isn't our highest paid player and some of the current salary figures are way off. Apparently Etheridge was on peanuts here, I'd have kept him on that basis and played him as first keeper.
