People who know me all think I'm a lot younger than I actually am because my body is still pretty trim and I'm relatively healthy, but what makes me feel old is the fact that I'm at the age where just the mere fact that I wake up in the morning means that I'm having a good day. Given the average ages in my family I could have more than another 10 years of going to sleep every night wondering if its the last time I'll do it. I'm not sure I can bear it. I've been so active and it has all gone.

think the moral of the story is to try and do regular exercise when you get into our 40/ 50's
the last 3 years been doing regular running between the months of March to October struggle in the winter months tho
feeling alot fitter now than 15 years ago so much so might try and play in the baseball league again this summer !
Being positive, what I can do now that I couldn't do when I was younger is play the guitar and write better - which is all down to time and practice.

I'm 61, and if I say so myself, still fairly fit and strong. I've remained pretty much at the same weight I was when I was in my late-20s.
Anyway, about a month ago, I was watching a random YouTube video on some teenager pulling off some 'parkour' stunts and was thinking to myself... "Bloody 'ell, I couldn't do any of that".
However, just to test myself, I thought I'd try a handstand against the living room wall. I'm still reasonably strong in the arms and thought I'd be able to do it.....FAILED each time!
Sorry to hear you’re struggling mate. I think people underestimate how hard it is to grow older as a man and the fact you can’t do what you used to. I know we’re joking about it now but it is a real issue.
Accepting that getting older is something out of our control is helpful, doesn’t make it any less difficult though.
