RIP, he sang many a memorable theme song.

I was only watching an episode of New Tricks the other day and thinking I haven't seen much of him recently.

I loved Minder.

Some of the episodes with Arthur's nephew Ray Daley were good, I've watched some recently.
Much better in my opinion. Pretty similar though in many respects. Arthur and Del Boy would have been nasty pieces of work in real life.
For me , Minder in its prime was brilliant tv.
However, as Carter in the Sweeney he was superb.
I preferred Minder too. Thought Only Fools was a little over- rated.

I agree. It surprised me that all the headlines mentioned Minder and New trick but not The Sweeney. I'd like to know why? Has it been 'cancelled'?
RIP Dennis. Fond memories of watching Minder, takes me back to my childhood. Arguably the best theme tv tune and he wrote and sang it himself.
Great British TV actor, gave millions of viewers a lot of entertainment over the years in The Minder , Sweeney and New Tricks .
