Just checked the EFL regulations. Players can only be loaned for half a season or a full season. An early recall clause can only be inserted into full-season loan contracts, and can be activated during the Winter transfer window only.

Grabban off to West Brom apparently. That's another striker we've been linked with we're not getting.
And Luke Plange, another striker I've seen us linked with, looks like he's being loaned to RWD Molenbeek (Belgian 2nd division).
West brom have missed out on a number of strikers they've been linked with as well, I wonder how far down their list Grabban was and how far down ours we are.
Signing a new left back on loan could be tricky. A young PL prospect would want assurances they will be first choice, which means another season on the bench for Joel which seems a bit harsh.
Morison said something about not wanting 32, 33 and 34 year old strikers.
