If we manage to sign both Andy Rinomhota and Michael Hector this weekend, I’ll feel a lot better about this team. Still not sure we’ve got any leaders mind, especially if no Ralls.

Just need to use all 5 loans on strikers and we’re all set.

Some creativity in midfield wouldn’t go amiss, but I’ve been saying that for years and nothing’s happened, why should it this time?

Has there been anything saying we're signing Hector? Wouldn't be a bad signing if it's true.

Cardiff City are currently weighing up a move for Bordeaux forward Josh Maja who was on loan at Stoke City last season

Do you see Ralls as a leader, I don't?
Not vocal enough, which perhaps can be offset if you lead by example on the pitch, however, he doesn't do that enough either.

Most our our former managers have, as well as the current one.

Ralls is a decent, proven player at this level, I'd rather have him on our side than play against him

He’s no William Wallace but I’d say his status within the club (having been with us so long) and previous experience being a captain puts him ahead of the rest of the players. I couldn’t pick a single other person to be captain, who do you think?

It’s a name I keep seeing on Twitter but not from any respectable journos. It matches what ccfcwelshlad has been saying in the other thread too.

Agreed. We also need some consistency in the squad, if we get it over the line I think it'll be important.

We do then need to start getting some additional creativity in the squad then though. I presume we will use the loan market to address this.

We need 4 CDM players competing for 2 places
Then a creative midfield player to compete with Colwill for the number 10 role.
I see us setting up as 451, so a couple of wingers would be nice to see

Che Nunnely, winger from Willem II on a free. So say some on twitter.

Not sure there's much in this or the Tyler Roberts links. Could be wrong.

Can’t see what Roberts would bring to the party but Nunnely would offer something different.

17 goals and 8 assists in 3 seasons in Eredivisie. Not bad

Willem II finished 5th in his first season, 14th in his second and 17th (relegated) in his third. Apparently, their fans have close links with fans of Bristol City.

Do we have a scout living opposite Ashton Gate or something? Even our European signings have connections to the Wurzels.

came through the youth system at Ajax, and capped at numerous youth levels for the Netherlands.
only 23 still so a good age.
lots of potential positives on this move

however it does look as though he tore a knee ligament in May

seems like he's out for "months" . could be we are taking a gamble on a player who we wouldn't have been able to get of it wasn't for the injury?

If the injury is as serious as that report suggests it could be a repeat of the Callum Paterson signing - and that worked out OK.

He's supposed to be having a medical today, so we will hear soon enough.

Yeah, hopefully it's more Paterson than Vassell.

Listened to a podcast with Gary Lewin (the ex Arsenal physio) on medicals, and it was very interesting. Says you can't really pass or fail, it's a risk assessment. Some managers will wave them through (Warnock) and others are more cautious. He mentions Overmars (not by name) but said his knee had 3/4 years left in it. After 3 seasons, Wenger sold him to Barca for 20m and he played a year at Barca before his knee went.

trying to glean any more info about him and I came across this

That's a hell of an effort, fair play - you woulnd't want to drop those given the prices in stadia these days.
