Would Morison benefit from the support of a Director of Football? And if so, whom?

Of course it would have to be a good working relationship that Morison welcomed.

IMO it could be a good thing even if the role was part time.

Never really thought a DoF would work for us, he seems to know what he wants so I don’t think someone interfering would help.

Morison has spoken about the club now working in a different way from the Board through the analysts and recruitment team to the manager and coaches - and all signed up to a vision, a playing style and a club strategy that will outlast any single manager.

All good - and some growing evidence that it is not just words.

But given the lack of knowledge and limited experience on the board (although the part-time CEO and Chair are not inexperienced any more) there should surely be someone else in the club who can stay focussed on the strategy (especially with the Academy and recruitment) and provide continuity if/when a manager leaves. Isn't that the job description of a Director of Football.

The best potential DOF out there probably has no connection to Cardiff City - but I would like to see someone come in who gets the club and the fans, and can bring more to the mix than ability and competence. I would like to see a Steve McPhail or Eddie Newton in the job.

They would be two outstanding candidates.

You don’t think that with the right person to support him he could be a better manager, quicker? Maybe somebody of his choice?

Not at this point as it would be viewed as a weakness in his own abandoned decisions.

The time to do it is at the appointment stage if a new coach / Mgr ie next one .
