He looks a bit like the character Blue Blood from Gomorrah

Do we really need a Jack with no c ?

Shoddy write-up. Alnwick didn't aid Blackpool in their promotion from League One. He was at Bloomfield Road in 2019/20. They finished 13th in League One that season and were promoted the next.

Alnwick is 29 next month, so he should be at the peak of his powers. Hopefully he'll prove a solid first choice keeper because, although he makes some decent saves, Phillips never looks too assured.

Seems to be the trend as we lost an S with Morison

Apparently he is at the peak of his powers

City boss Steve Morison was at CCS as his new signing put pen-to-paper. He added: “He’s really experienced and we needed to add in that department. He’s an excellent goalie and he’s at the peak of his powers.

Two free signings with plenty of potential.

    Good work

I’ve never seen him play so can’t give much of an opinion, we certainly needed at least one keeper though.

We also have no idea if he will be number one, if Phillips will be number one, if Phillips will be moved on and another keeper brought in to be number one or two. I feel like people will do anything to mock Morison.

Impossible to tell really how well he’ll do here, but his stats at SPL level are pretty good. Best of luck to both of our new signings.

Let's see how his signings go before we judge him is my motto. It does seem to be the way though, people picking up on anything from the way he speaks and the words he uses, it does seem awfully petty.

We don’t like that kind of positivity around these parts.

The last 3 keepers we had who played in the SPL were top notch. Lets hope the trend continues.

2 signings so far, both met with a degree of positivity from the fans.
How long will that last I wonder?

In terms of him arriving, could it be magic?

We always seem to get it right with keepers to be fair. Lets hope we have here.

    I agree.

When I started following the City, they had two good 'keepers in Bill Irwin and Ron Healey.

Steve Thompson has some good things to say about him:

    https://www.dailyrecord.co.uk/in-you...p-jak-27005654

Former Saints striker Steven Thompson believes Alnwick couldn’t turn down his move to Cardiff City, having enjoyed four years with the Bluebirds as a player himself.

He is confident the former Newcastle man will thrive in the second tier of English football and admits he will be a tough act to follow in Paisley.

Thompson said: “St Mirren have been very lucky with goalkeepers over the last four years, with Vaclav Hladky before and then Jak. He will be a very big miss.

“There’s no doubt he was one of the top keepers in the league over the last two years. He’s performed so well throughout this season, making a number of fantastic saves. He’s also a good communicator which helps the defence massively.

“As well as his saves, he’s exceptional with the ball at his feet which is often overlooked with goalkeepers.

“He’ll be a huge miss but it’s hard for a club like St Mirren to hold on to players like him.

“I know from experience Cardiff are a huge club and it’s a massive step up for him.

“He really couldn’t turn that down and “I wish him all the best down there. I’m confident he’ll do well there.”
