    Championship clubs points deductions 2022-23

Bristol City almost in the red zone and maybe planning for a points deduction for breach of Profitability & Sustainability regulations:

Other clubs close to or over the line include Stoke and Middlesborough.

Bristol have some pretty saleable assets that could get them out of a hole.

They do, and I think their fans are pretty resigned to losing them (Massengo and Semenyo).

Interesting to see how much Stoke are paying Laurent if he goes there. Flint too.

Just about to mention this. I don’t get how Stoke somehow seem to avoid punishment every season.

You can’t get out of a hole if you are from Bristol.

If Boro are close to the edge then the sale of Spence should see them okay?

It’s such a sh*thole it’s not even on the map so to speak, so they get away with it……

Stoke sold their stadium to Bet365 for almost twice its value in its books a month before the EFL introduced a rule outlawing selling your ground at an inflated price to avoid FFP punishment. That and a conversion of debt to equity by the owner should mean they have dodged a bullet for this year.

Semenyo to miss three months of the season with a serious shin injury

Interesting to see that they're trying to limit to 20k. Who bought in the highest earners? Johnson? Pearson initially?
When these figures are presented, are they amounts that were actually given to players or are they contract amounts? Do they account for any bonuses and other add-ons?
Looking for the numbers, I saw one website had Smithies at 30k/week (semi understandable) but so was Bacuna. Really?
