Nah! I've always thought Gretsch is for the oldies. Not only that they are (or used to be)very expensive. Having said that I bought a 1963 Strat in 1966 for £150 which was incredibly expensive at the time. The orange Gretsch at that time was £325.

Having said that I have noticed the absence of Strats at Glastonbury. Jag's used to be regarded as old fashioned and didn't take off in the early years but for some reason they seem to be fashionable now.

There's a UK band with the same name, but I'll have a look at the Yankie version.

Diana Ross at the moment in the legends slot.
If I'm still awake later it'll be the Pet Shop Boys and not Kendrick Lemar.

What a stupid thing to say.

    Jimi Hendrix - Fender
Eddie Van Halen - Modified Fender
    Keith Richards - Fender
    Rory Gallagher - Fender
    Chuck Berry - Gibson
    BB King - Gibson
    Eric Clapton - Fender
    Johnny Marr - Rickenbacker/Fender
    John McGeoch - Yamaha

The only guitarist of note I can think of that uses a Gretsch is Brian Setzer.

This wordfart should not be lost to posterity. There are people at Worthy Farm who have spent three days consuming vast quantities of magic mushrooms who could still be more coherent than this!

Not to mention better than all of them - Nuno Bettencourt - Washburn and Paul Gilbert - Ibanez

My favourite artist that uses a Gretsch has be Poison Ivy of The Cramps fame. A very underrated guitarist

I beg to differ. All the best guitarists played a Gibson Les Paul:

    1/Paul Kossoff
    2/Duane Allman
    3/Slash
    4/Gary Moore
    5/Jimmy Page
    6/Brian Robertson
    7/Billy Gibbons
