    Back From Madrid

    Not Bale themed.

But got back last week from the Spanish capital and apart from the 43 degree heat and the Bernabau being closed for renovation it was one of the best city breaks we have been on, the highlights were:

    Great Argentinian steakhouses
Superb late night tapas bars, beer and great food
    Padron peppers....Wow !
Lovely parks for walking in the shade
    Fantastic transport with the metro
    Great people

Already thinking about going back but next time to take in a Madrid game

Couldn’t agree with you more. Great city to visit. I was fortunate enough to watch a game at the worlds most famous stadium a long time ago. Real had Beckham, Michael Owen, Ronaldo and Zidane in their forward line ,against Real Sociedad, winning 5-0. Great experience .

Can't agree more, Madrid is massively underrated. A great city.

That and the small tapas bars in mercado San Miguel

I was in a bar near the Bernabeu waiting for colleagues. Mourinho was manager at the time. I’m looking at a local paper trying to decipher the news and a guy stands next to me says something about football I said mourinho and tutted. He talked non stop for 15 minutes before my colleague turned up and rescued me.

    We parted great friends…I think
