In Cardiff, the population size has increased by 4.7%, from around 346,100 in 2011 to 362,400 in 2021. This is higher than the overall increase for Wales (1.4%), where the population grew by 44,000 to 3,107,500.

Looks like more than a third of all the population growth in Wales occured in the Cardiff local authority area.

The population of Cardiff had to go up when you consider what was needed to meet the target set to turn the A4119 and certain areas Of Cardiff west into Wales largest continuous traffic jam.
With a city population that’s probably now close to 370,000, (2022 estimates ),and around 1m catchment then we as a football club really should be shifting 16/18,000 season tickets ?
The population also doesn’t include students due to Covid rules , which can exceed 40,000

According to that Census, conducted in March 2021, the UK population stood at 30k short of 67 million.
the Wales population is forecast to be still 3.3 million in 2045,
Scotland will have declined slightly to 5.4 million and Northern Ireland unchanged at 1.9 (I expect it'll be part of a united Ireland by then though)
England is forecast to rise a bit over that period, but a lot flatter than previously.
the age of rapid population growth is probably already behind us.
Wales population will probably decline even further if it becomes independent, but that’s another debate entirely.

Opinions , opinions…… I think it will when you dig down into how many non Welsh people reside in Wales and how many Welsh people are either against the idea or are confused how Wales would generate its own taxes
