I haven't seen an ad on terrestrial TV for years
The ironic thing is that one of the reasons they give, for wanting more and longer adverts, is to combat the threat posed by streaming services. But surely this is counter-productive? One of the big advantages of watching Netflix or Amazon (other services are available) is that you don't have to put up with all the bloody adverts.
Almost as ironic is Netflix saying they might have to introduce adverts, to offset their costs. Again, that's one of the reasons people use it, so to remove that advantage would be plain daft. Why not stop making all those stupid formula films, that nobody watches, and concentrate on the good stuff, then?
