It wasn't perfect but we had the chance to install the alternative vote system which was a sort of PR

But this stupid country couldn't even be bothered to get out of bed to go to the polling booth

    We have what we deserve

    Re: Chaos in Government

I'm now getting furniture restorers adverts popping up showing how they can repair cabinets 😂
I'm sorry but I don't think they can fix this one.

To be fair, that av is such a watered down system it rendered the entire referendum dead from the start. Full pr or keep what we got for me.

It seems there's a concerted plan to oust BoJo, if he doesn't go now, something else will come out next week.

    Sleeze getting rid of sleeze?
Two things are amazing. It's amazing how when politicians are surfing the wave their sins go completely unnoticed, unreported or glossed over. Nobody leaks because there is no great route to power and even if they do nobody in the press that matters wants to listen.

Then when the shine wears off how swiftly those unreported sins come to the surface.

The sleazy bits are when politicians like Johnson think they rule all they can see so do what they want. I think it's called hubris!

I think it's amazing that the sleaze started virtually from the start of his leadership. Didn't even behave for a bit at the start, just straight on doing what he wants. I'd love to know how much carrie has earned in dodgy deals and nonsense jobs he has got her. Must be millions already

Nadhim Zahawi upping his credentials for a pop at being leader IMO. Blojo desperate but appointing Zahawi as Chancellor might prove yet another disastrous decision. The clock ticks.

A nice safe John major type of tory and its back to the opposition benches

The labour party is dead in the water with the liberals in the lifeboats picking up scraps

The opinion polls would be showing huge leads if the tories were on the ropes but it's not happening

    Thoroughly depressing
This 100%. Will probably vote Plaid at the next GE and I’m not even a Nationalist.

Nadhim Zahawi as chancellor. It makes, me want to throw up. He along with Patal come over here and tell us we don't need foreign workers. Can't get an holiday abroad because of chaos at the airports. Can't get a bus no drivers. Can't get staff in nursing homes because of piss poor pay What a fcuking shambles.
This country is up to its neck in debt. I daresay the chancellor will increase it by borrowing more for tax cuts.

I’m fairness, he was elected after driving around the country in a big red bus with a blatant lie plastered all over the sides of it. A large percentage of the general public lapped that crap up, so it’s little wonder that Johnson believed he could get away with anything. And thus far he has.

Maybe they could stop sexually assaulting people, watching porn at work, breaking the law, changing the rules to suit them, lying, having affairs with colleagues. Then there'd no sleaze to leak.

    It seems basic to me.

I guess it's not surprising that the bang average politicians that Johnson elevated based on loyalty rather than ability are reprising Custer's Last Stand. Not sure about the "coming over here" bit though.

    Re: Chaos in Government

I still cannot understand the apparently popular notion that Boris Johnson has somehow single-handedly "delivered" Brexit, defeated COVID, and is now set to solve the Ukrainian situation and the cost of living crisis; and all this excuses him for telling blatant lies as he is too busy concentrating on the last two aforementioned matters that he forgets about being at lock-down parties and promoting a sexual predator!

Just seen the news from Harrogate, typical well to do tory seat

A few opponents but many still backing him saying OK he's lied but he's done a good job

    Well there you go then

This is incredible for anybody who wants the complete destruction of the conservative party/brand. Keep going Boris, keep appointing people. We believe in you.

    Re: Chaos in Government

I can't be too critical because I've done it myself once or twice, but it is weird how people on the left on here seize on a Tory f*ck up to have a go at the Labour party - especially in this case where Labour are entirely blameless as far as I can see.

but but but Jeremy Corbyn has moved to but but but Keir Starmer.

They say you could put a monkey in a red rosette in Labour areas.

Its worse in Tory areas but a blue rosette on Boris Johnson and some will vote Tory. Or Raab Patel Rees Mogg and all the incompetent idiots. Put a red rosette on a monkey against that lot and if its a straight choice the monkey would be the better option.

Zahawi making himself look a right idiot on TV. No shame.
