Think it was South Korea v Japan bronze medal play off match. I was there so at least I can say I've been to the Olympics

There were 2 GB mens games in Cardiff - the group game v Uruguay and the quarter final v S.Korea. The 3rd place game was also there aswell as a few women's games.
I think my son dragged me to 2 women's games as a double-header. One team was GB so think they did it to boost the crowd for the other game.

I would only have been two and a half or so at the time, but my parents told me that I saw the Queen when she arrived in Cardiff to open the 1958 Commonwealth Games in Cardiff and they also said I watched a couple of events - I have this mental image of watching men running past on the street while sat on my Dad’s shoulders, so I may have seen the Marathon I suppose.

I took my son to see the GB v South Korea match. GB lost on penalties. We came out of the stadium, having had absolutely no signal on our phones, to find out that we'd missed Ennis, Rutherford and Farah winning on Super Saturday.
