BBC says 35 for us on Monday, Met Office says 30. So probably just a typically hot summer's day.[unless you're the BBC]

The clue is 'man-made'. Who knows ? If it rains, its CC. If it snows, it's CC. If it's hot or cold, it's CC. If it's Windy it's CC. They used to bang on about the 'hole in the ozone layer'. Remember that ? Then it vanished and they had to find something else to get stressed out about.

Well all that I will say is that for the last few weeks most media outlets (including BBC and ITV) have been banging on about how we are in the middle of a catastrophic heatwave and how we are all doomed due to climate change. Last week we had two days where the temperatures rose to around 31-32 degrees but for the rest of the time they have been in the 22-28 degree range and mostly sunny (but not always). Early next week they are forecast to rise to the mid 30’s for a couple of days but then fall back to around average for the time of year. Prior to this dry period it rained for about two weeks solid. All this isn't a heatwave, it is a normal British summertime. It is time that organisations like the BBC stopped trying to make up news to fill airtime and stop trying to frighten the population half to death.

the case for it being man made is compelling. I don't think you can have properly understood it.

Yes, he's trained in a related field. What are your credentials then?

It supported complex life while a lot hotter. We wouldn't die out. If you're issue is over population then aim your fire at the continent of Africa that's where most of the growth is happening, even though their carbon footprint is lower for now. Doubt a leftie would dscuss this issue though

It vanished because governments listened and took action ffs.

This is terrifying that you think it just vanished on its own.

But he's not respected by anyone in his field and is thought of as an utter joke. You need your head examined if you're following Piers Corbyn over the vast vast majority of respected scientists.

I don't think he's even classed as a scientist, he's got a MSc, but that means nothing because so do I.

The World climate has never been constant. It's differed from millennium to millennium, century to century, even between decades. Egypt was covered in grassland and woodland. The deserts of Northern Africa had lush vegetation with rivers. No-one doubts the climate is changing, but the man-made hypothesis is not based on science, but a pseudo-political drive to make people aware of the planet they inhabit. There's no tangible link.

How do people think like this? Seriously how do you get up in the morning and think you know better than NASA?

    Don't be terrified.

Anyway, to quote your chums at NASA :
"The hole in the ozone over Antarctica still exists, but it is no longer the threat it once was according to an October 2012 NASA press release. According to NASA, the hole appears and disappears every year due to a complex interplay of seasonal weather patterns"

and why isn't it the threat it once was.....? You're so close to getting it.

Read what I said, back in March 2020 there were plenty of Covid deniers, people who told us it was just like the flu etc. etc on here, which was in complete contradiction to what “the science” was telling us about the pandemic. In the weeks that followed they were proved hopelessly wrong and a couple of the boards more prominent “independent, critical thinkers” had to take a year off to lick their wounds.

Also, you’re right about global warming, but I’ll always be prepared to accept a majority opinion of this size.

Just remember, when the temperature hits 30 you'd be better off going down the beach, rather than hiding under your bed

it is absolutely based on science, clearly you haven't bothered to read up on what the case for it is.
the evidence for it is overwhelming.

it's fine because we wouldn't go extinct is a hell of a take

Doesn't that make a good case that scientists are truthfully reporting their findings? After all, if it was just a big con (for whatever reason, this I don't understand), why wouldn't they just continue doing the ozone one, seeing as they'd spent decades spreading it?
