Thread: Haaland

    Re: Haaland

I only support 3 teams, Cardiff City, Wales and whoever is playing England but.. I love football and remember the Leeds team from the 70s and 80s, Man U in the 80s, 90s, Arsenal double winners and Invincibles. It is great to watch good football played by the best players and right now Haarland is the one. It helps that he has great players to feed him the ball. Right now he is the best no 9 I have seen for many many years.

Does he play for Bristol City?

Watching Haaland play makes me think our match threads should be moved to 'Other Stuff'

This is history infront of our eyes. Injuries, suspensions, being dropped (I doubt) would slow him down. I am football lover, I think this is great.
Dixie Dean missed three games in his record breaking season, played in 39 games. Great stat is that he needed a hat trick in the last game to beat Camsell’s 59 goal record from the previous season and, of course, got the three goals. As you say, this is history in front of our eyes. It would make for a breathtaking season for all fans should Haaland keep up his amazing start. Records are there to be broken, I’ve always believed that William Ralph’s 60 from 39 games was impossible to beat, so exciting, even this early in the season, to see it, on average so far, being threatened.

8 games in and no one's figured him out yet. Life is strange.

He's a phenomenon. Figuring him out isn't the problem as much as stopping him is!
Great centre forward, great physical presence and reading of the game.
Pretty much the perfect striker. I can't name a better one.
He makes the likes of Shearer, Schevchenko, even Ibrahimovic look bang average.

Haha it’s already got the record for “the most misguided thread ever” award

The Cornelius comparison will go down as legendary.

He really is just that, spectacular.
I don't think I've ever seen a more complete centre forward.
People will of course point to the chances he gets at a club like Man City, and their other players etc, but he still has to take those chances and he does it with aplomb almost every time.

One of those players you see maybe once in a generation.

The finish from the De Bruyne through ball was unbelievable, not many strikers would have go to that, let alone finished it.

Not many are 8' 9" tall and able to reach it.

It was quite ridiculous. On his arse, stretching for a ball with some pace on it, he lifts his foot up and not only makes contact, he makes perfect contact. With the underside of his boot.

Well, someone's got to do something at some point. They can't just let him run rampant and win everything under the sun for the next 15 years, even if they have to go Norman Hunter on him.
