Nope. He's busy whacking one out over Carol Kirkwood.

Considering "Southern England has suffered its driest July since records began in 1836", no, summers like this don't happen every year.

I was in southern Spain last week and one of my friends said as we were travelling to the airport "just think, this is what the UK landscape could look like in 20 years or so". Dry, dusty and barren agriculture outside the major resorts and towns and I tend to agree if these summers carry on in the UK, 25-35 degrees each year.
Problem being is what will those landscapes in Southern Spain, Portugal, Greece, etc then look like. Sahara desert? completely unlivable?

By then wars won't be fought over religion, oil or gas.....it'll be water.
Live each day now and enjoy.

It's more than a little worrying

When was the last time we had winters in the UK?

It's getting milder and wetter but we don't need the wet in November, we need batches of it during the summer

Our population is getting older and they really suffer in the heat

Get yourself down to a beach late pm…jump in the sea and cool down. Just spent the day down at Pembrey with the kids, lovely temp in the sea, gentle breeze, forests to cool off in right next to the beach. A few miles up (it’s 8 miles long) is for nudists too sludge so further interest for you…..

It's not even that hot, especially if you compare it to Spain and the Med.

July 2022 was the third warmest on record.

It is widely predicted that southern Europe will hit 50 degrees in the next few years. Anyone who thinks there is no problem here is living in cloud cuckoo land.

I agree there is a global problem, but I quite like the Summer we are having this year in South Wales it's a cracker like 76

I'm not going to moan about it because in a few weeks it will rain for months on end!

Which warm summers do you mean?

Here's 1976-1988 in terms of overall summer temperature in Wales with each year's overall ranking (which is between 1-138, going back as far as 1884):

    4 1976 15.83
    102 1977 13.49
    125 1978 13.05
    107 1979 13.42
    114 1980 13.36
    87 1981 13.72
    40 1982 14.45
    6 1983 15.61
    21 1984 14.96
    121 1985 13.12
    115 1986 13.35
    103 1987 13.49
    100 1988 13.50

3-4 scorchers in 13 years while 8 of those 13 years were amongst the coolest summers on record.

We haven't had an average summer temperature out of the top 100 since then, while half of the summers since 1988 have been in the top 30 for temperature.

I was saying there is no point in moaning about being hot today, lets be happy and make the most of it!

The Global climate problem is for the Governments of the World to sort out, but no doubt if Truss says we will all have to pay a bit more to reduce climate change, it will be it's alright for the rich shes Tory scum!
