During the covid seasons, Morison would quite often do co comms and I dont think he was the biggest fan of Glatzel. I dont think hes physical enough, Im terms of strength or pace to succeed as a lone striker in the EFL. Maybe that would change when the ball wasnt being pumped in the general direction of his head, though! He knows where the back of the net is, though, which is more than most players in our squad
Glatzel likes the ball at his feet, facing the goal. He doesn't do the work. Not the worst thing, but I think that's why it didn't work out here.
I was at the Hamburg derby on Friday and he was very average. 3-0 St. Pauli.![]()
Glatzel scored again on the weekend, that's 19 in Bundesliga2 this season, the division's second-highest scorer. He's now got 62 goals in 103 games for HSV.
Cardiff are amazing at accumulating lots of players in the right /wrong position and then playing them in the very wrong position. We are very good at it because we don't know what players we need or what to buy
He didn't come across as being particularly skilful to me. Neither did he have a turn of pace, or show great strength.
I get that the way we set up meant that any forward would have found it difficult to succeed. Nevertheless, I'm genuinely surprised by his stats in the German second tier.
Good luck to him.
Mark Harris has scored 19 as well. Theres levels.
yep we didn't even try to play to his strengths , technically he was good .
he's just one of a long line of strikers who we try to play as a target man because of their height, whether or not that is their natural game.
