I was more concerned at not being able to view the replica WC trophy.
Brilliant idea
Isn’t that less than a penny per person of tax payers money? Doesn’t seem a big deal.
I always thought people liked them?
Some of the stuff they have posted on twitter is pretty inflammatory, but I note they have locked their twitter now, with an image that addresses it (someone who has since left had access to the password or something).
We've talked about this before and I do think the FAW generally need to be a bit more aware of the Independence stuff and keep it at arms length.
Anyway, I know one of the members, he's a decent guy and good luck to them. I think the £1.5m fund to promote Wales around the World Cup is a good use of tax payers money really. This may not be the finest example and inevitably people will think they should pay their own way...certainly they have been lucky, but good luck to em.
Does seem a bit questionable IF their social media is as toxic as this tory makes out
It's a good potential ROI.
Can see the Qatari's coming over on the Doha to Cardiff flight (is this still a thing?) after being blown away by the famous horns.
It's a good gig if you can get, fair play to them
I would rather vote for my arse than Plaid Cymru but any organisation that wants to and I quote ......kick the Tories out of the Welsh assembly ......is ok in my book
It’s £17k out of a £1.5m budget. So a negligible chunk of an almost negligible chunk of money from the annual budget.
IF it’s true that it’s an ex member who made the tweets then there’s not much they can be blamed for. If it was a current member, pulling them aside and telling them to tone down the politics would be sensible.
The Barry Horns are a big part of Welsh football culture home and away and have been for years. It’s our first World Cup in living memory for most people and I’m glad the government are investing something into it whilst we’ve got the spotlight on the world stage.
They were missing in action on Sunday night. A big flop, didn’t get the crowd going at all.
Typical Welsh government, add a tax burden to tourists, leave the bryn glas tunnels bottle necked, reduce the speed to crawling pace, free prescriptions for billionaires, stop people travelling five miles, lockdown longer, close important roads, instal unused cycle lanes everywhere, give a load of Barry Cardiff city fans money to go on holiday and get p!ssed and play with their trumpets, should anyone be surprised by their idiotic ideas?
At least it's not tramp fans, Cardiff gets everything!
Not joining in the love in sorry.
Could have gone towards saving a life
towards helping someone in a desperate situation
towards a hip op for an OAP
and millions of deserving cases
maybe even a heart transplant for Liz Truss.
and will be spent in a country with a human rights appreciation akin to the CCP
always one spoilsport

You understand how budgets work right? They're not nicking 17 grand from the health or education budget to put towards this. This money would've come from an allocated amount in the annual budget for cultural/tourism/sporting/etc purposes. Now Wales have qualified for the World Cup (which happened after the budget was decided) it's been decided that this is an appropriate use of that department's funds.
I wish I could get the horn at 70 years of age, without vigara.
I'm not anti-Senedd or the Welsh government but it's not up to the Welsh Government to fund this and even though it may be a small percentage of budget, £17K is a lot of money. They should really be paying this themselves or they go the GoFundMe route. I'm very cynical about the Qatar WC anyway, so I fully accept it's not high on my list of priorities as far as Welsh Government expenditure is concerned.
