    Indonesian football tragedy

How sad, 4000 more tickets sold than capacity. How the hell was that allowed to happen?

Events like this, and all the talk of how Qatar will be during the World Cup does make me slightly more lucky that I live in the UK (Tory party aside of course).

Horrendous. So sad that people set out just to watch a football match and end up losing their lives.

Police shot tear gas into the stands of a 40,000 person crowd. People escaping for the exits were caught in a stampede/crush. Horrible stuff.

Additionally, use of tear gas for crowd control has long been banned by FIFA.

The riot apparently started after fans were angry at the team's first home defeat in 23 years. Madness!
