Thread: Bin men out before 9am

    Bin men out before 9am

Woke up happy - City won.

But back down to earth, having to endure the tail backs this causes.
How is this a good idea during commuter peak times and around the schools?

They've got a job to do, lets not complain when they are up and early and doing a good job, and it's bin people now, I saw a bin woman last week!

    They can't win.
Complaints if they're late, complaints if they're early.
We had our green bags, green bin and hygiene waste all collected before 7.30 this morning. Excellent service.

They've got to start early or they won't finish their day's rounds in a day

Aren't they on task and finish meaning they get paid paid for their 8 hour shift irregardless of how early they complete the round ? A good incentive to complete their round in quick time

They don’t just do your street and go home They’ll be out for many more hours still.

I believe the council officials stopped this in the 00’s.
That’s why it’s all young kids doing the job now, as all the perks have gone

And plenty of them are still agency staff, 5 years after doing the job.which means tge council can get rid easier. That was one of the reasons that they threatened a walk out back in the spring. Pay is poor as well.

I thought the council agreed to offer a permanent contract to any agency staff who have been doing the job for more than two years.
