Not a surprise, they seem to have gone backwards in leaps and bounds since Mike Flynn left the club

If that is the case, then I can see Wrexham replacing them in the league next season!

I would have thought Steve Bruce would be in with a shout. league 2 is about his level

Sounds like a last relagation saving job for Warnock, his kind of people!

He could save Flint, Morrison and pull Bamba out of retirement as an assistant player Manager!

Well, I for one hope they don't go down. The more Welsh clubs there are in the League, the better.

I wonder if they would have him back as a coach?

Having worked in Newport for three years I have a bit of an affection for them nowadays. Few that I spoke to in work wanted to give him a bit of time but there we go. I’m sure there were an equal amount that had enough.

I heard they are his kind of people and the mckay twins are still looking for their big break - - oh yeah and wheres bacuna! - maybe Warnock told him to sit tight and there would be an opportunity coming along real soon

Swansea can drop out of existence for all I care, mainly because they keep taking the piss out of us in the derby

Surprised he lasted as long as he did. I guess the win over Leyton Orient last week gave him a stay of execution, until the almost inevitable sacking after the next defeat.

    Of course, Aberdare Athletic.

If I had the choice of Newport going to the Championship or the Conference I'd chose the Championship. We get closer away games, bigger home crowds, better atmosphere and it would hopefully improve Welsh football as a whole.
Same if I had the choice between relegating Swansea or Bristol and keeping them in the division. Who would want an extra game against Preston, Blackburn, Rotherham, Wigan, etc over a local derby?

I’d prefer fixtures we have a chance of winning. The derbys have been as successful as the cups recently.

City/county always felt like a bit of a lost derby to me. I know there was that short run in the 80s but that’s about it. Always wondered what that fixture could turn into if it was as consistent at this level as the games against the jacks. You’d have to think it would become ‘the’ derby due to proximity.

More of an off field rivalry than an on field I’d say.
