Along with that dodgy B of E Bailey Geezer, whats hIs role in all this , hope its not political, he sure did a good scare and scalp job though i find it strange that only £5bn of the 65 billion headline grabber have been spent of the thirteen-day bond buy up, so what and where is the pension panic . it was supposed to reduce the risk for credit conditions .

Thanks B oF E for the market spook and creating, panic , worry and cost .

In my humble view look no further than quantitative-easing by world banks as the real issue behind this chaos

I’m glad we’ve had to suffer a decade of austerity so we can now afford to do some more austerity

Well hear it comes as the other option of stimulating expenditure to create growth is now gone even the 1p tax break is in the long grass .. ..

Enjoy the politics of the Bank of England and thier frugal policies and budget responsibilities rules .

Good man especially those on over 50k a year striking .

I'd think more of them off them if they were striking just for those earning under £25 k a year not themselves, a strike for all lower paid workers of all organisations..

    Real caring for others socialism.

Sounds like you just don't like anybody who earns more than you, unless of course they earn a shit load more, then they are doing gods work. Politics of envy anybody?

When you are in a union you all work together to get pay rises for all. It’s not a race to the bottom where you get to a salary point and you never get a decent pay rise again.

Why are you so against working class people? What has made you act and think like this?

These are out mothers, fathers, sisters, brothers and friends. The Tory’s are not your friends. They couldn’t give one feck for you or me.

People on £24,999 a year striking? How absurd.
Minimum wage is £19k a year and most of those people can’t go on strike.
These poncy rich folk should be happy with what they’ve got and not try bettering themselves.

Worst part is, he says he has a disabled family member and he still votes for them. (I say this as someone who also has a disabled family member who needs daily care).

The middle classes will be biggest hit next by the tories. From Spring, the energy bill help is going to be targeted to those most in need. If you take away the energy bill help, then need to renew your mortgage at such a much higher rate, I don't know many people who could absorb that cost increase.

So it will be literally just the richest 1% in the country who in an ideal world this government would help out, but they're too toothless to get it through.

Is this the end of the Tories forever?

If the Tories lose the next election in the manner suggested by the recent polls then they face an existential crisis. So much so that the flimsy coalition that makes up the party will fall apart. I predict the party will split into at least two new parties with the One Nation cohort forging ties with the Lib Dems in an attempt to counter a resurgent Labour party.

What may be left of the existing Tory party could well be just a rump of libertarian, free market ultra right wingers. In time their party might garner a similar level of support as the Socialist Worker party does today.
